Big Will
BMW also states in their owner's manuals now that they recommend NOT rotating the tires. I believe their rational is more along the lines of "not everyone rotates them as regularly as they should and this leads to more problems than just leaving them." I rotate my parents wheels on their E46 at every oil change but that's just my own opinion. I rotate the Volvo's tires at every oil change (every 5,000 miles)
Jack8745
They can't be rotated because BMW uses staggered wheels on many models. but even on same size wheels.. BMW says that if the suspension is ok they they wear down like they should bmw also doesnt believe in alignment unless a part was replaced
geokilla
Well for enthusiasts, you can't rotate staggered wheels, but for ones that aren't staggered, I/we try to rotate them. As for alignment, you have to do alignment if you wheel is fairly off centre. I can't imagine how people can drive when their wheels are like to 20 degrees to the left or right just so they can drive straight.

They even put a sticker on the windshield to remind you. I love my BMWs dont get me wrong, but the company it self is nucking futs

I love my BMWs dont get me wrong, but the company it self is nucking futs I find that quite ironic since using iDrive is much more dangerous than a cell phone. At least you can navigate a cell phone easily.
