Cd Changer

98 S70 GLT with 6 CD Changer option in trunk. The radio now doesn't recognize that there is a CD changer attached. When I depress the Chgr button on the radio I get the EEEE display, which according to the manual indicates that there is not a CD changer installed (it did work normally before).

This is what I did for troubleshooting:

I pulled the radio and disconnected / reconnected the cable on the back of it that goes to the CD changer.

I pulled the CD changer and checked power to it with a DVM (and the small fuse in the wiring just before the changer) and I have power on the changer side of the fuse.

I disconnected / reconnected the the end of the cable at the CD player that goes to the radio

I disconnected power to the radio, reconnected power, and re-entered the radio code thinking this might help.

No difference, I still get the EEEE code, any idea on what to try next?
