miken1
My check engine light has been on for a month. Today I took to my local autozone and they read the codes for me there was 8 of them i was amazed. I will list them if anyone can tell me what they mean and any suggestions i wpould appreciate it. Also the car seems to run great. PO445, PO448, PO245, PO031, P1655, PO037,PO136, P1332 It sure seems like a lotI was thinling maybe one thing could be causing most of them Thanks Mike
JordanW
here is a prime example of the quality of local parts houses... We'll pull your codes, but you need to figure it out. Nice. You can search all those codes yourself online. The beauty of OBDII codes, they are universal and they follow some what of an order. I'm a little reluctant to say more... You've got EVAP codes P0445 P0448 TCS/BCS P0245 O2 Sensors P0031(front), P0037(rear), P0136(rear) Misfire/ IGN P1332 Com/Aux in/out P1655 (typically tcm to ecm) As far as where to start. Well, we know it's a 99 XC70, but how many miles? When was the last "stage zero" completed? Have you had any recent work done on it? I really encourage you to search those codes and make your own determination. You could replace both O2 sensors (depending on age and mileage, not a bad idea, though expensive). Put new plugs in. Replace the lines for the BCS/TCS. Replace the EVAP purge valve and rubber lines. Check and clean your engine grounds. OR, reset the codes see what comes back? BTW, AutoZone will print out for you what the codes mean. Good Luck to you!
miken1
Thanks for the advice I cleared the code and drove about 25 miles and had them read again and only one code came up this time. It was for the oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 circuit malfuntion. is there any where online that would say how to fix this. Oh bu the way the car has 135000 on it. and i just got it out of the shop due to an oil leak on the turbo Mike
JordanW
Well, simply put either the O2 sensor is defective, or there is a wiring problem. Yes, searching online will most likely suggest that you could replace the rear O2 sensor, and check the wiring.
Ihatespeedbumps
If the o2 sensors are original a new pair would be a good idea. Can you elaborate more on this oil leak at the turbo? When did the car last have a tune up?
