Matty Moo
I searched, but couldn't come up with anything. I'm swapping out ecu's today. Do I disconnect the battery before doing it, or is it not necessary? Conventional thinking would tell me to disconnect it, but I'm not sure. thanks. DHV70
nope, you're good just popping it out and back in again. You disconnect the battery when working on the car to avoid tripping ecu codes (or getting shocked / having an airbag blow up in your face.) You can't trip a code if your there's nothing to read it

Matty Moo
it's a platinum edition wagon. I bought it in may after my other 850 was destroyed by a deer. I couldn't pass the platinum up, as the price was right and the PO was meticulous about maintenance. If the dealer told him it needed replaced, it was done, so it came with all the stage zero stuff already taken care of. all I had to replace were the strut mounts and a control arm, but did the whole front end since I was already in there. I'm swapping in a bsr stage one ecu, but only for a day or two. I'm trying to decide if i want to leave it the way it is, or do more with it. I tend to drive conservatively, but wouldn't mind the extra go.

It took 4 hours to buff out the hair and blood. and we should all be so lucky to have dealer maintained platinum edition cars. the best of luck with your ecu! try opening her up on the highway.. just once :)
