turboVULVA
When I bought the car it didn't come with the key fob. The locks work but Im not sure if everything would work If I get a new keyfob. Would it cost a lot to bring it to a dealer? Or is it as simple as just buying a keyfob and asking for a keyfob pin or something?

rj240
P2 models are S60, V70/XC70 '01-07, S80 1st Gen, XC90... You should be fine with a used remote, you will have to bring it to the dealership so that they can program it to your car. They will be able to look up the VGLA code in order to reprogram it for your car...

BEJinFBK
doesn't work for mine!! Have you got the security package or just keyless entry? If you have the red LED on the dash and a single horn mounted top center of the fire wall under your hood, then you should have: “Panic “ function In an emergency situation, this feature can be used to attract attention. Activate the “panic” function by pressing the red panic button on the remote control for at least 3 seconds or by pressing this button twice within 3 seconds. The turn signals will flash, the interior lights will go on and the alarm will sound. The function can be turned off by pressing any of the buttons on the remote control or will stop automatically after 25 seconds. If you get flashing parking lights and no honk, the security horn probably got loosened up. They seem to do that...Be sure the nut in the center of the alarm horn is tight. Here's the link to the alarm section of the OM: http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/1998/1998_SV70/98sv70_045.htm
