Tom
I am interested in shopping for a V40 to replace my aging 850 wagon. Can anyone describe the reputation of these cars? Do they have known difficulties like rear main seals, AC evaporators, throttle bodies, ABS modules, or something else? Any model years to avoid? Thanks for any help on this ... JVC
Get a V50, not a V40, the V40's have those 1.9t 4 cylinder motors, the newer V50's are sweeeeeeeettttt...
RBoy8
I read somewhere that if you get one, make sure it's '01 or newer because the '00s were the early models and had weird things going on (like the '93 850s... just different parts, etc). We had one as a rental a while back. Despite it being lower on power compared to the 850 Turbos, we all found it to be a pleasant to drive. Before I got my 850, I was going to consider getting a V40 before realizing they were out of my price range. I'd suggest checkin gout s40concepts.net. They've got some pretty good info on them.
