Modus Posted September 13, 2009 Report Share Posted September 13, 2009 I'm used to 304 and 316L SS it's very hard to tarnish those types of steel. I guess the SS braided break lines are just that. Just the braid is SS not the fittings. Why are they rusting? There IPD specials after 5 years. In the same pic is my EST Cat back exhaust after 3 years. That has some pretty good Rust pitting on it too. SS my arse Reminds me I should get my joints welded. Those clamps only work temporarily. But, that is where the difference between SS and Aluminized is. Alumunized will have the corrosion penetrating in 3-5 years where as the SS will still be surface corrosion after that same amount of time.
