VoOk
i just installed a boost gauge and its jumping to 20 psi ?? any one have that problem before or anyone know how to solve it ???
TryingBe
So, when you are in boost, it goes to 20psi? If so, you have a serious vacuum leak to your wastegate actuator. Fix it before the engine gets damage.
DHV70
i just installed a boost gauge and its jumping to 20 psi ?? any one have that problem before or anyone know how to solve it ??? you go ALL the way to 20, or is it spiking? either way, you've got a leak, but it makes a difference in describing. If you need an actuator, pm me.
FCP Euro
You can check if the wastegate is good still by disconnecting the hose form the TCV and blowing into it. If the wastegate moves, it is still good. If not, replace it.
VoOk
when im at 2,500 rmp the psi is at 5 the goes to 10 around 3,000 and then if i gun it flies up to 20 when i first installed the gauge and went for a spin i was like something has to be wrong there's no way it should be at 20 psi when its nearly stock just have a intake and and catback exhaust ... laird
What modifications are done to the car? Are you using a stock ECU or do you have an upgrade. 20 PSI spikes on a chipped car would not be uncommon. If you aren't getting a code, you may have a cracked, torn or just plain old vacuum line to the wastegate. You may also have a bad line from the compressor housing to the TCV or even a bad TCV. New lines all around for sure first.
