16T Upgraded To 19T By "Nickel Sport"

I FOUND A 16T TURBO UPGRADED TO A 19T FOR $700 ON EBAY. THE PEOPLE SELLING IT ARE CALLED "NICKEL SPORT". I THINK ITS A LITTLE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THEM? IS THIS A WASTE OF TIME, MONEY, AND EFFORT? SHOULD I RUN SCREAMING INTO THE NIGHT TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE? ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL.

How do you UPGRADE a 16T to a 19T? Housings/wheels everything is different apart from the flanges, so in essence its a 19T not a 16T

The housing, I believe is no different, just bored out for the bigger wheel. All you need to do to upgrade any TD04 15G, 16T, etc, to a 19T is bore it out, put in the wheel, and bam! 19T!

OMG WELL I FOUND THAT JAMES (James@turbocharged.com) CAN PUT A 19T WHEEL IN YOUR 15G/16T, REBUILD IT, AND CLIP THE TURBINE WHEEL FOR $400. SEEMS LIKE A BETTER DEAL TO ME THEN GOING THROUGH E-GAY. . .

AND ALL THE TURBINE WHEELS ON ALL TD04 TURBOS ARE THE SAME (15G/16T/18T/19T), ITS THE DOWNPIPE AND OUTLET ON TURBINE THAT ARE DIFFERENT

I think the actuator is $250. Might be able to modify something else to work. Also, I think Forge makes an aftermarket. Not sure on the cost of the Forge.

The best deal is to get the 19T from Waltrip. You are getting a brand new turbo which will outlast your car more than likely.

Oh my ..why not just get an 18t nad drive w/o the fear?

I wouldnt exactly call the 18t Fearless....

and 19t is just so much more ballsy xD

Uh. Wrong. The wheels are not all the same. As you go up, the compressor wheels get bigger.

People have bent rods with 15G's. There is no such thing as driving without fear. It all depends on the modifications, and how you drive.

You are wrong. The hot side (turbine) is the same, the cold side (compressor) is different. You're confusing the turbine and compressor as being the same thing.

I thought they were the same, ah. I'm sorry, my mistake, Atleast I had enough sense to say Compressor in my post.
