Tom.
the problem is the rear seat in the R (the smaller of the two sides behind the driver seat) the seatbelt is almost like it rolled up way to much and wont release. and as a result i cannot put the seat in the fully upright position... my indie shop told me that best bet would be to replace the entire assembly... he said something about a internal button or something... the owner of the car claims it happened before and they somehow fixed it but he cannot recall how... any thoughts? this happen to anyone? i wont have the car till Tuesday or wendsday i plan to take it apart and look at it then. but any advice would be nice! to replace the assembly is like 300+$ so im hoping someone can tell me how to fix it... Mine does this...temp fix is to unbolt seat belt from side bottom mount (15mm I believe) and then it will retract. But the problem will come back. Guest mbardall
It worked! I found out that I was missing a knob that stops it from receding into the seat further than it should. Nice to know.
831t5r
Ya common for stop button to break or go under the plastic covr. Unbolt and melt a new one in, I got special bit for my soldering gun to melt em. They r cheap to replace too
JRL
EXTERNAL button Probably the little plastic button(s)have broken off, allowing the belt to retract all the way (and lock). You need to remove the side (or the seat) to get it out and then install new buttons.
Keaton85
On my moms XC the plastic is all broken off so she had to stick a massive button onto it. Only problem with that is only skinny people can sit in the seat now! Haha
