Parrish Posted September 23, 2009 Report Share Posted September 23, 2009 Can anyone here confirm that this transmission employs a "one-way bearing or overrun clutch that is intended to hold a gear or planetary from spinning in both directions?" The reason for my question is that my 2000 VR will not hold the engine revs when I release the gas pedal and coast to a stop. It doesn't matter what gear I'm in or speed I'm traveling when I release the gas pedal; the engine revolutions will immediately fall to approximately 1200/1500 and remain there until I stop or accelerate. Otherwise, the transmission works without issue. While driving my 2005 VR GT, I don't see the same symptom and I believe the transmissions are the same in each car.
