Volvo5.0
Didn't realize I ran the rpm's up that high (8540) before shifting. Tires break loose somewhere over 7K rpm. I see 8960rpm in your log. I wonder if there's an issue with the rev limiter in TT when you have it set to 8K. You said it hit the limiter when you had it set to 7600, so apparently it works OK when you have it set there. lookforjoe
Yeah, it does seem that there is no evidence of cut with the 8K rev limit. 6/21 EDIT: Adam @ TT said there is an issue with ME4.4 firmware rev limit. He will address it. In the meantime, I'll either lower it back to 7600, or just pay more attention to my shift points. No reason to run it out to 8500, I just wasn't paying attention. 4th - I'm sure it's soo rich 'cos of the timing pull. Now it's time to try the WMI. With the higher boost setting, I seem to be getting full boost at only part throttle - my gauge was reading closer to 30psi so I backed off. Not sure why there is such a discrepancy between the MAP I'm using to log, and the analog gauge
sconeman
no pressure .... we want to see 30 psi. JK! but seriously 30 psi would be great . edit... haha I didn't see your last post. OK Hussein try to keep your revs below 10 grand so we can get some good video of you doing 4 wheel burnouts up through 3 gear . :D Edited June 21, 2012 by sconeman
lookforjoe
tried to get a more stable video - unfortunately the back of my head is pretty prominent

lookforjoe
wtf, 117 degrees out? looks awesome The info center is tied to three sensors - hotside, coldside, ambient. That was coldside(!) after several runs. Ambient (under bumper) was reading higher

boxpin
That first RPM span gave me chills.....NICE! I even went back to listen to it again.
lookforjoe
That was 1st gear - I was trying to capture the wheelspin in the top of the gear. This is the graph & log that go with the 3rd gear pull - slower than before, but I didn't go WOT until later. Boost was lowered back to 17psi. Until I can properly tune for 20+, and know what timing values to expect, i don't want to push my luck in this heat shift into 4th takes about a second. I need to do a hard 4th pull to see what my AFR's really are- third will always be leaner, and in this, 4th is too rich, for the split second I was WOT
lookforjoe
Still running only 17psi. Did a couple of logs on the trip to my Mum's in South Jersey this past Wednesday. I had some fun with a couple of Vdubs, too 80-120 took a little over 7 sec. AFR's & timing look good. At this low boost, MAF isn't being maxxed out until 6600rpm. Should be able to hit 150 in 4th, I reckon. 5th gear log, just to look at AFR's Still need to finish VEMS ECU wiring. I found out yesterday that I can still pass NYS inspection with codes for rear 02 heater & signal missing, & no readiness set. This is good news, as I was wondering if I would have to change my planned wiring to allow for inclusion of a rear O2, and stock front O2. So, I should be able to use the piggy-back Volvo ECU Lucky modded for me without any problems.
laird
I've had a couple of good meals at the Lobster House in Cape May. My time in AC has confused me a bit and I haven't decided if that's South Jersey or East Philly. Good to see you are having fun with the car again. 850wagonT5
That thing sounds fantastic! Nice! I've seen that turbo support an 8-second pass in a mitsu.

lookforjoe
Just been driving the wagon, enjoying it as is. The only quirky issue I have left over is the stalling on decel with the AC on. Adam fixed the basic stall on decel by upping the software base idle to 975. We tried a couple of different fixes raising the AC idle step up, but it didn't change the AC stall condition, which mostly occurred in low speed town driving, so very annoying to say the least. Not sure what about the new hardware created this condition, since neither existed with the old motor/RN head/EnemCams/LG header/Custom intake manifold, as I ran it from May-Dec 2011 that way. The Spec clutch does change the shift technique required, as it bites very hard if you don't slip it a little more than one would with a stock clutch. Anyway, Adam @ TT has been great in terms of working with me to find a viable solution. The last thing we tried yesterday & today was to alter the base (idle range) timing. A quirky issue with ME4.4 is that it wants to run only 4-6º BTDC @ base idle, no matter what numbers you set in the ignition map. Adam determined a way to override this, and set the base timing at idle to 10º BTDC, based on my request. I drove about 50 miles yesterday with the AC on in mixed driving, and it was definitely better - but, it still stalled several times. Today, Adam did a revised tune that set the timing to 12º BTDC base. These are data logs to show timing values at idle (warm engine) with and without AC on. You can see that it still tries to lower the timing, but it is better than it has been. AC on Decel with AC on I'll know for sure tomorrow, but after a little ocal driving this evening, it seems to be resolved, finally.
