mdlimy
tunerstudio is set up a bit different, my ign load goes much higher on the table, havent touched this table for a while.

Can't go any higher than 100% - yours must use a different scale measure - looks like load is expressed as MAF flow?

ozzimark
Or as an 8 bit number, 0-255 for 0 to 100% load? I'm not terribly familiar with how MS works. It could also be manifold pressure in kPa...

ozzimark
that makes it a little tricky to compare our maps It wouldn't be so bad if we knew wtf motronic was doing behind the scenes :(

ozzimark
whats motronic? He's the schizophrenic magical wizard who lives inside a silver box in our cars.

lookforjoe
Any news? Running better? How's it going? Sorry, Kenny I missed your post. Been working on the X1/9 for relief Anyway, this is what I've been getting to: Timing pulls early on then comes up, max flow seems to be up the 6K range. It's been knida rich in the 3-4K part throttle range - I've been seeing AFR's in the high 14's when @ 10psi steady part throttle, so I've been figuring where in the map to enrich a little, pull timing a little. seesm to be getting there. This is still only 18-19psi, though.
Captain Bondo
Afrs are looking pretty solid! What's with the 30.5 degrees of timing over that on stretch? Looks like it's at full boost there, 30.5 degrees doesn't make sense - maybe i'm reading it wrong. Otherwise it looks ok to me. Timing is in the low teens at 18psi for the most part which sounds about right. it's pulling timing mainly in the 4500-5500rpm range which is probably right around peak torque and right where i'd expect it to detonate. I almost think the 3-5 degrees of pull at peak torque there is probably the system doing its job.

There's a small boost "spike" & AFR climb in there, too. It does feel good overall; I need to pull timing/enrich the map in that area where the timing is pulled, I used my det can, and it's definitely knocking at that point. This is the timing map as it stands 10psi boost/part throttle @ 2600-3600rpm puts load in the 50-56% range, and the AFR's are still in the 14's at that point, so I need to either pull some timing or add full it seems. Captain Bondo
Cool, sounds like you're starting to correlate engine load per the maps to actual boost, etc. which is pretty much the key. Yeah 14's at 10psi is pretty lean. I would add fuel and leave the timing advanced.
lookforjoe
Good news today! Dyno'd @ Carlisle. Tweaked the 1.25kg/cm2 tune I had been working on on the drive down. It turned out the lower port on the Greddy has to go to inlet vacuum, not compressor side. It was limiting my overall boost to 19psi. I fixed that first thing this morning before the dyno runs, so at least i knew I could run over 20psi, even though I hadn't tweaked the map for it. I had them run the first pull @ 1.25kg/cm2 (17psi) and the 2nd pull @ 1.5Kg/cm2 (21psi), since I already knew the appropriate duty cycles to set in the Apexi AVC-R. Here's the results: AFR's for the lower pull: AFR's for the 21psi pull: Still have room for more, by the look of it. Definitely better with the 3" MAF housing - 4psi increase with the stock MAF housing would have necessitated map reworking. Still need to refine the map where the timing drops out @ peak torque, but it's finally over 300WHP! Log from the ride home...
