Olive850
Hey hows it going everyone? I have a 1998 Volvo S70 N/A, w/ 130K, automatic. My car does not do this often, but i am very curious as to where it is coming from. Once in a while if iam moving from a light, or going up hill, i will see a puff of blue smoke, that goes away, this has happened three times in the past 4 months. If it was a leaky valve seal, wouldnt it happen continuously? I was also wondering , could a backed up pcv valve system be causing this. Thanks. MrWinkey
Let it idle for about 10 or 15mins and see if it blows a puff of smoke or starts smoking. If so I'm going with stem seals or valve guides.

tnok85
Having just prepped my '95 850 Turbo for a PCV change, never having done anything this intensive (as light as it is), it took me ~2-3 hours minus running to the store to grab this tool and that. (I went slow and took lots of pictures) Make sure you're prepped first. I'd set aside a weekend for it unless you're experienced with this stuff already.
Fake-R
It seems like it would take quite some time. I replaced mine while the engine was out, and took no more than 20 minutes. Oh, the simplicity of space. Don't worry about it much though, if you set aside the time, and put your head to it, it can be done. I know the drive of fixing the car is strong, so just focus on that!
