Fake-R
I think a key for the wagon was about 25, and no more than 40. I'd say somewhere around there.
S8ET6
Depending upon the dealer ... $50 -$75 bucks
Young Burnsy
A key for my 01 S60 was $80. The remote is $240. It will vary from dealer to dealer.
mustang
WOW. According to my local dealership, the key is $93.55 and $160.00 to program it to the car. $250 for a key? seems ridiculous. Anyone feel this is reasonable? Sounds like it's the key/remote combo going on, I don't know why they'd need to program just the key, since you said you already have a remote. And 93.55 for a key? Jesus. It costs more if the key has to be ordered from Volvo. To copy an existing key is the cost of a blank + Software. It costs $200 for a new master and software @ The Volvo Store
Young Burnsy
It shouldn't be more than $100 for a key. If it is, they are hosing you. Go to a different dealer. They have to cut the key and program the car to accept it.
rj240
I don't know about in the US, but here in Canada we order the keys precut from our distribution center in Toronto. As far as I know, non of the dealers here are equipped to laser-cut keys... The keys run about $70 retail, and then you need the car to program the key (due to the immobilizer), so you need a software download from Sweden (about $35), and then the labour required to download the software and program the key (about 15 mins)... Local stealer just charged me $165 for new key (blank, cut and program) for a 2000 V70XC. This was for the key, not the remote. Really sucks, if you ask me, since nobody steals these cars anyhow.
