whitesnake
hey i read about the extra functions when turning on the radio and pushing the preset buttons so i tried the equaliser option which is preset number 2. When I do this the screen comes up with "fix equalizer coupe" what does this mean? I cant seem to change anything..! Thanks
beadgc23
Press the right hand knob once & rotate - you can select a bunch of different EQs to suit a variety of volvos - S70 V70 etc. When I say "suit" I mean they're all equally wrong if you have aftermarket speakers. The 901 has twin 5 band EQ's for front & back speakers under this function, one of the reasons it's desirable.
BEJinFBK
I'm not totally sure, but I think that it's the 901 that really let's you tweak. I had a 900 for awhile, but it was starting to show some changer trouble. IIRC, one of the things I really like about the 901 the greater flexibilty of the hidden menu tweaks. I'm pretty sure that the 900 only allows a few preprogramed curves for the various car interiors that it was available with. That and the 901 gives you Dolby Surround for all three input sources. The 900 doesn't... Jim Rothe wrote a very good arcticle on his quest for better sound in his S70. You'll find the EQ info a ways on down, but read the whole thing for some great advice on upgrading stock Volvo audio systems. http://www.jimrothe.com/volvo/volvo-dynaudio.html There are a few other easter eggs in there, speed controlled Auto Volume On/Off, Euro/USA tuning, stuff like that, but I can't remember where I stashed'em. whitesnake
yeah that was the article i read before trying this. One thing i hate is that you have to do it while its turning on and the aerial keeps going up and down which annoys me since sometimes mine jams. I put the auto volume thing on but I wonder if it actually does anything at all?
