Platinum850Wagon
So I bought this little cheapy JVC powered sub to put into my wagon. Don't really want to thump, just want a slight bump. My car has the factory amp, so I purchased from ebay an "add an amp cable to factory Volvo System". It plugs in between the factory amp and cable and then runs out 4 RCA Jacks and a power and ground wire. Since I'm using a sub, it only has two RCA inputs and it also has a bundle of wires for speakers and such. Needless to say, I'm a bit confused. Should I get an adaptor that will bring those 4 RCA's into 2? Will I have to use the speaker wires from the sub? I've never been good at Audio hookup and I guess I never will...Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone...the dash is out of the car! Will start on the evaporator and heater core tomorrow. Going to change some dash bulbs and odo gear while I'm in there...Thought I'd try to hook up this sub as well...just don't know how! ABDLOCK
No..I use only the rear RCA's for my 10' SAS bazooka..That way you can fade a little forward if someone doesn't want all the bass

Ignore the speaker inputs on the sub, you don't need them if you use the RCAs.
Platinum850Wagon
Thanks for the straightforward and easy to understand comments...when I pulled the radio out of the car and turned it slightly, I hear this metallic, clunking sound inside the unit. I'm startled and confused. What could it be, what has come lose inside my radio? Everything works fine...hhmmmmm....I begin to take the top cover off and then move the radio around and a nickel falls out! Then a quarter!! This job is making me money... Platinum850Wagon
Okay, I'm still stupid so forgive me....This wiring harness that I bought also has a 12 volt positive and negative wires leading out. If I hook this up between my amp and don't yet hook up the sub, will everything still work as normal or will I need to put some power to those leads? I've run out of time and I must get the car back together today...if everything does work as normal, do I use those wires to give the sub it's power? It's sad that I don't how to do this...I just removed the entire dash, hvac unit and replaced evap and heater core, odometer gear but I can't hook up a damn radio! Dave 54
The last ebay link you posted is the one I have... Looks like in that one the power and ground are there to turn on another amp you would be adding into the system, you'd attach them to your powered sub for it to turn on.
