I am going to have them media blasted, repair the rash and re-paint them. I have spent a couple of weeks burrowing into VS to see what other color options might work on the Volans beyond anthracite. I do drive quite a bit. I am leaning towards a non-volvo smokey silver or that champagne as suggested. Colors of the rainbow. Do every spoke a different color. haha.
