I would think it could all be made better if you could establish an unbroken chain of ownership, a clean bill of sale, and a couple phone calls. If the dealer advertised clean title, then they should make it right. Regardless if nothing has been done that's sketchy you should be able to resolve this. If all of that went down in one state, it probably wouldn't be that big of an issue. I'm not so sure I'd even attempt to take that title to the DMV here without getting it cleaned up first. I'm not even sure if you could get a surety bond and just claim lost title to make it easier since the last place it was titled was NY. SALESMANJOE Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 Just pulled carfax on car , NOT A SALVAGE TITLE, clear title no loans against, no wrecks reported, new york all its life until after 115,000 miles. I drive everyday so far the only issue is the abs and tracs lights on.
