brick8
I am going to try to mount a chm-6__ changer in the glove compartment of my 1995 850glt. I have an sc-811 radio. I bought a changer cable and a volalp adaptor from crutchfield. I hooked up a similar setup in my 1993 850's trunk but would like to try the glove compartment this time and would appreciate any tips you might have. Thanks! Adam Franke
I have a bunch of pictures from when I did mine at http://www.goeaston.net/~lunasea/changer/. Just a warning, they are pretty big.

brick8
Thanks. I got it installed. Took me about 1/2 hour extra because I got confused and plugged the old changer plug (running to the trunk area, for volvo changer that did not come with car) back in to the back of the radio instead of the new plug. DOH!!!Works great. Seems to respond quicker to the controls without the 16' cable too. I drilled a hole in the side of the glove box for the wire but didn't have to do any other mods. Just remember to remove the brackets from the changer and it fits great. Brackets not necessary because the fit is so tight anyway.
maiku
what i did was instead of drilling a whole, i just removed the white covering over the glove box light and threaded the cable through thereworks great and i can always retain that "stock" look if i want to remove the cd changer some time
brick8
Wish I had thought of that, although the hole I drilled is way in back. I removed the glovebox bulb to avoid the risk of battery rundown, since I will only be using the glovebox for the cd changer now.what i did was instead of drilling a whole, i just removed the white covering over the glove box light and threaded the cable through thereworks great and i can always retain that "stock" look if i want to remove the cd changer some time←
