Быстров
i just got my fuel pump so before i install it, i decided to stick a rag in the tank to see if there was anything left on the bottom since i took out the last of the really bad orange gas about a month ago. so i stick a stick with a rag in the tank and comes out the color of thick oil, but its sticky like molasses, and smells like melted aged plastic with fuel. i really dont know what this crap is, my guess is vandalism from previous owners since i bought the car with a bad buel pump (and i think this is the crap that made 2 of my fuel pumps go bad) but my options are either Find a new gastank, or get crap out of it.... here is where i need help ... how do i get that junk out if i throw in some of that nasty paint cleaner for spray guns? it dries fast and cleans everything, is there a darin whole? . or how and where do i get a gastank? does anyone have one they dont need? i really need this car running! please help
c_long20
You can try to clean it out but its most likely not gonna get clean, that creepy black stuff aint coming out. You really need a tank and a new filter with that shiny new pump. Try a junkyard first, maybe a parts store, last resort the dealer.

TorqueSteer
palm coast is in between st augustine and daytona. If you can make the drive down to West palm beach, you can pull one and buy it for $20. There has got to be a few junkyards near you, got to car-part.com and see if a search comes up with anything local.
