Matty Moo
There's an exhaust clamp that holds the downpipe into the front of the cat. Is this the same clamp that is on the backside of the cat also? I called swedish engineering (they're close) and they have a clamp for the backside, but don't list one for the front. The front one fell off yesterday. I would crawl under there and look, but she just took the car. Loud exhaust reminds me of hillbillies too much, so I need to fix it pronto. FCP Euro
Are you sure there is a front clap on your 850? Do you have a stock down pipe and cat? This is what the stock cat looks like.

This is what the stock cat looks like. It is stock. So there isn't supposed to be a clamp there, just welded. Correct?

Matty Moo
Yes, that is correct. Sounds like it is just leaking. Yes, it is leaking. It started yesterday, could tell where it was coming from and could feel the air coming out of the joint. I'll have to look at it when she gets home. I'll weld it if it's not rotted out. mbsl98
It's not a clamp, and it's not welded, it is held with three bolts. Maybe you just need to tighten the bolts :)

I'll have to check it out in a few minutes when she gets home. If the dp isn't welded to the cat, then I'm thrilled. I'd really rather tighten down 3 bolts than anything else. Matty Moo
I found my leak. It's on the backside of the cat, and it is welded. I'll take it in and have it fixed.

I think mbsl98 was mistakenly referring to the three bolts that hold the DP to the manifold while you were referring to the cat and the DP/piping. I figured that after crawling under there. I've never paid much attention to the exhaust on either of my 850's as neither of them showed any real signs of corrosion. pretty impressive for a 13 year old car that has spent it's life in the salty midwest.
