Anyone have any experience of the SRT4 3" Sports Cat from ATP on their T5/R?

I would not waste the money on this... just get a HIGH FLOW Magnaflow CAT for uner $100

Found out off ATP themselves that it is a Magnaflow ceramic cat with the flanges welded on. I dont know if its a 100cel cat though.

not sure if you thought of this but if you do go with that cat you either need to cut off the flanges to weld together into 3" pipe or weld on vband flanges into your exhaust to replace.

I am getting a 3" turbo back system made once all the other modifications have been fitted (built engine, GT3071r etc etc), ATP also sell a decat of the same length with the vband flanges so i can swap them out for the MOT test here in the UK. Unsure if I want to go this route yet though or permanently use a sports cat.

I would go with a permanent cat, but no idea how strict MOT is over there. Only reason I say permanent is the extra cost - besides the extra cost in material for the VBands (which are rip-off expensive for no legit reason) it sounds like you're also going to be paying a guy to make 4 extra welds, simply to be able to remove the cat.

Besides, those maganflow cats don't last all that long for higher HP cars. Stage I/II cars tend to do better with them.

Mine made it 8 mos before it croaked. The biscuit that is the catalyst is only about 4 to 5 inches long, not a lot of material there.

Might need to check out Kemira, they have twin catalyst designs that can handle the kind of through put you're talking about.

At 12:1 AFR and 300+ bhp the amount of exhaust gas going through that cat is almost twice what it was designed to handle according to the data sheets I've seen. So longevity is not surprising really.
