jnderr Posted October 21, 2009 Report Share Posted October 21, 2009 I can't get my tailgate open on my 2000 V70, putting this in the 98' and older section since its the same design as the older models. Anyone had any experience with this, the latch only goes about halfway and stops, it was working fine and then closed it while out shopping and now it won't open nothing traumatic. Thoughts or ideas? There isn't some sort of inside release is there? +1 Otherwise you will have to get the cover off the back of the tailgate, which is going to be very hard with it shut, and see what broke. The release would be the inside handle, there's no other. if the outside handle won't pull don't force it, try having someone push the gate closed from the outside while you try the inside handle. it sounds like the latch is jammed or something got caught in the striker.
