Pops Racer
Jazz Howard survived the hell of Little Haiti in Miami and came to UCONN. He came to play football, get an education and lift his family up. He was destined for the NFL, and lift them high he could of. A coward took his life and decimated the lives of others. The UCONN football family has lost a good man, and it hurts all of society. It's amazing how the best of us get struck down at the time they are about to place many on their shoulders. I'm a fan of the program, I just thought I should illuminate a hero for those that don't know about hero's. Bless his family, and his friends. Pops Racer
They searched one fellows house, and have detained and questioned other. I'm sure they will go slow and deliberate, some cases have been botched and they surely want to get this one right the first time. NO technicalities for defense to free the scum. Anyone harboring or withholding info should go down hard on this one also. We are stuck between Boston and NYC, and UCONN has kinda become our sports identity. It's rep needs to be protected. Edsall has represented the school terrifically on this issue, he's been a strong man for all the students and players, and a true friend to Howards family. I hope he gets a chance to lock himself in a room and cry/ morn like he deserves, up till now he has been a man of rock for all concerned. NO doubt in my mind they picked the right man for the job. He expects much from his players on the field but more off.
Mesoam
you do realize this isn't the first murder at UCONN.....the only reason this is making heavy press is because of the athletic side
Pops Racer
you do realize this isn't the first murder at UCONN.....the only reason this is making heavy press is because of the athletic side yeah, I know, it gets alot of press for that, not fair but true. I'm just a sports nut, read all the sports pages, ESPN, so they make it huge. The kids story is very compelling. I in no way mean to belittle or trivialize non-athlete related issues, or do mean to raise the athletes status because of his position. Thats the way of the world. You hear about Columbine for years, yet 10 inner city kids prolly got killed the same day around the country, without a mention.
