mattk42589
I recently purchased ipd's iPod adapter for my 1998 S70 (the ipd part number is 3E8000). I am trying to use the adapter with my iPhone 3GS, and I have the appropriate 3GS compatible cable from ipd (CB-PA85). The whole adapter is hooked up correctly, but when I plug my iPhone in, a message comes up on the iPhone stating that adapter does not work with iPhone. However, the adapter still charges and plays music from the iPhone. What's really annoying about the whole thing is that every time I try and change the track using the headunit, it displays the message over again. Has anyone had experience with this problem or successfully hooked their iPhone 3GS up to their volvo without this problem? Thanks.
Jesus
Get the same message with my blitzsafe iPod adapter, but only once when I first plug it in, then I don't see it again until the next time I plug it in.
beadgc23
That looks like a USA•SPEC PA11-HON ipod adapter but the cable between the HU & white box is different to mine - maybe it's IPD specific? This is the USA•SPEC cable for 93-2000 Volvos with SC-XXX head units and it works fine with both 3G iPhones (with the new iphone cable) and the SC-901 - ask me how...etc etc etc. The "Does not work with iphone" message appears once on connect & then that's it. I'm speculating that the cable you own is repeatedly disconnecting the iphone, causing that message to appear. Did you call IPD to check? NB - maybe it's because it's a 3GS...never used one.
