Guest bisondriver
I'm off at college and my 2000 S80 is at home with both the turbochargers in need of a rebuild. My dad who was cool enough to try and get them out to ship away was only able to pull out the turbocharger on the passenger side. He bought the repair manual but told me that he just cant find a way to completely remove the turbocharger on the drivers side. Any ideas on how to access it? I really appreciate any pointers as I can't afford to have the local shop do it all for the $3200 they quoted me at. Thanks.
FCP Euro
You may have better luck if you undo the V-Band clap that holds the cartridge to the hot side of the turbo. Once you have the clap off, you can remove the compressor side and cartridge all as one piece and then have a lot more room to unbolt the hot side from the car. Once it is off, just put the two halves back together.
