c_long20
I have the stupid question for the day. I have a 98 v70 awd b5254t, 13g mbc. When I get around 11-12 psi the check engine comes on and the ecm cuts the injectors and the car backs off for a second like when you get to the speed limitation. I have looked through design and function, fault tracing, wiring diagrams ad i cant figure out wtf is making this happen. I dont have a tune yet and I know I need one. I have nitrous on the car and i am very worried that this will happen while im spraying. please help a poor old redneck figure this out.
gilber33
sounds like your hitting fuel cutI don't know about those, but for 850s whenever you hit 15 PSI the ecu hits fuel cut so you can't exceed 15 PSI.unless you get a tune that eliminates fuel cut

I cant find a boost pressure sensor. My best guess is either air speed over the maf, or maybe o2.
michael-s70
your gettin fuel cut @ 11-12 psi? ouch man.... tr and find a t5 tune instead of the glt tune, which sounds like you have...? i hit fuel cut around 19psi

Commander Riker
Yes, it is the air flow (MAF) exceeding a preset threshold. I'm getting this also... today as a matter of fact. Good info.
lookforjoe
you need to run a different tune, even if it's just a T5 ecu. Nitrous on a stock tune, esp LPT motor doesn't sound too swift, I have to say....
randomdude
you can find used T5 or R ecus for cheap. should get you 5-8 more psi.

Boooooo We are going to the track this weekend, finally, and Ill probably have a dead motor and some cool video. There is always the slim possibility that I will come back with some good ET's and cooler video, but I doubt it. Ive never been accused of being a genius. you can find used T5 or R ecus for cheap. should get you 5-8 more psi. Any suggestions where to get one? T5shortblock
you should get a good tune and actually enjoy your setup. With 11 psi and nitrous, a LPT might not last super long, but at least it will work well while it does.

OK, is it a waste of time and money to get a tune for the lpt if its gonna be short lived anyway? Im sure Ill get a 2.3 next, is the tune gonna work for a 2.3? Or should I just use my super cool mbc and hold it back to 10 psi and live with it till I kill the dreaded 2.5 lpt you should be able to find one on the Eghey pretty cheap, or here in the FS section. there is always someone parting out a car. but yeah, if you want it to be done right, get a real tune. inmotion and speedtuning are inexpensive, but get mixed reviews. I talked to the guy at inmotion. He has a "basic" tune for 250 and a custom tune for ~650. will the cheaper one work or do i NEED to go custom. I know it would be better nut do I NEED to? washdup
Since the tune is not mated to the car, you can always part the car and re-sell the tune to someone else if/when the car dies.
