JCviggen
Here's the dealMy T-5R is a '95 and it doesnt have an OBD port next to the ashtray. What it does have is 2 little boxes near the ECU and a pin that goes inside to any of the numbered holes they have. To read out codes I need to put the pin in A2. Normally after pressing the button for 5s it should give me any codes or 1-1-1 if there aren't any. A while ago I got an SRS light, which I managed to reset perfectly with the pin in B5.However if I put the pin in A2 to read and erase codes the thing simply doesnt work. The LED lights up half when I put the pin into A2, but it should be completely OFF. When I press the button the LED will go from half brightness to full brightness, but the thing doesnt give me any codes. it doesnt do anything actually except light up more when i press the button.I need to clear a code since I got the lambda light on..........any ideas?cheers! JCviggen
None of my A's work, and one B doesnt work. B3 and B5 are OK. :(
drPheta
Could be a stretch, but try to see if you can take apart the button's box. Clean the connectors, and try again.I had a problem where my button would contact slightly, and the codes wouldn't read or clear properly. After disassembling the unit and finding corroded contacts, I cleaned it. Today, my reader works perfectly fine.See if that works.
JCviggen
thanks for the tip...but the button seems to be working fine if i use for example the B5 hole. It just doesnt work in any of the A's...also since the light goes on at half brightness when the pin is inserted into an A would indicate that makes good contact too...but the light shouldnt go on at ALL... damnit :(
