bobbyblue
for the bass & treble controls on the SC-810?
beadgc23
I've not seen published specs, but my aural dyno says around 100Hz & 7-8 kHz. Don't forget the ginormous bass bump at c 80 Hz.... Pick up an SC-901 & get the 5 band front & rear.

I would love to trade my 801 and the 6 disk changer for a 901.

Hmm - might have a problem finding a taker for that deal If you can live without the 3 disk changer, 901's aren't that expensive (until you factor in the amp) But as the color doesn't match your car anyway, why not go aftermarket? Pioneer does a double-DIN HU that seems to be popular here.

bobbyblue
I have a C70 amp if anyones intrested fantastic upgrade for stock system I was hoping for something that has a five band EQ that will just plug in with a minimum of fuss. I mostly use my iPod, and rarely play a CD. I guess aftermarket will be the way to go.

The volvo HU is pretty good actually, aside from the lack of tonal control. if your speakers are still 12-year old stock, consider replacing them. I've been very impressed with the speaker chambers they designed into the doors, the baffles work rather well. Your dash tweeter magnets have likely fallen off too, volvo used really weak glue. What do you rec for speakers all way around, for the wagon? What tweets can work in the back by the wagon door? Originally, I wanted to get better control over the sound and reduce the bass bump and get a little more in the 2K to 4K area, but maybe new speakers will work just as well. Early Xmas present...
