Sam
OK,Made a fatal mistake - waited until the last minute before heading out of town to address pad a rotor replacement, and ended up having to take it in because I didnt' have time. The indy shop I had been taking it to has missed a few things the last few times I have had a car in there - vacuum leaks, etc. that should have been caught - so I took it to the dealer. Big mistake. The call me and want 525 bucks for front brake replacement, but they've got me 'cause I need it done ASAP. So I fork over the cash to get it done. They also want 360 for a front control arm. Not going to happen - especially when FCP Groton has them for 100 clams. They are telling me that the buchings are worn, but that they can't be replaced because it is difficult to press them in. Is the load of crap that I think it is? Seems like I can jsut take the thing off and take it to my nearest press shop and have it done for 18 bucks worth of bushing and a few bucks for the press. Any thoughts? Oh, and by the way, they want 700 for the abs control unit - so Vic, you've got yourself another one in the mail first thing next week. First and LAST time I take it to the dealer.Sorry for the ranting and thanks for any input.Sam

Chris_R
Depends on the model... My '94 has the aluminum control arms and I'd prefer to keep those due to the lower unsprung weight.-Chris
Sam
It's a 97 850turbo.Obviously it would be much cheaper to just press in new bushings than to purchase a whole new arm. Thanks guys.Sam
