I have really enjoyed this forum on the etm trouble shooting and dianosis. You guys are a God send of info. My V70R has a one jerk, sometimes a two jerk, hesitation, chronically, about every .5 to 1.5 hours of operation. I can't duplicate or initiate it; but it does seem to be occuring through normal use of the accelator or just cruising. However, it seemed to stop during fairly constant speed drive of about 3 hours last week. It's been going on for at least a year. I know you all have been talking about years 1999 thru 2001 v70 models. But my problem sure seems like what your talking about.

I don't have any dash lights on and a friend scanned my car with no codes found. I sure would like to cure this jerk, especially it it's about to fail at some point and leave me stranded.

I have cleaned the throttle body with a rag and carb cleaner, but I am going to try to do it more throughly. What about Jaytan Industries, their price is only $199 for a rebuilt throttle body and etm? Has anybody tried them?

I have a good junk yard I use in Sacramento; since I don't have the affected year vehicle, maybe I should buy a used etm from them. Apparently the '98s didn't have the frequent failure rate as the '98-01 did. I've used them over the past three or four years and they have backed their warranties. I had a mass air flow sensor, on my '96 960, that I purchased from them three years ago that they warrantied. I'd appreciate your input and opinions. George of Fresno

chilled Man, There is a throttle position sensor! It's not the cable less etm on the '99-01 v70s. I am assuming, but most Bosch systems have throttle position sensors. Are you sure?

and therefore is not called ETM, because the sensor on the throttle is purely for fuel management refinement. your car will actually run with it unplugged.

so to sum it up, the problem you are having is not anything related to "ETM" as we call it. it sounds to me like there might be a problem with your pressure plate??
