Noahkk19
Could someone please tell me exactly where it's at, just so I make sure I'm looking at the right thing (Never worked on a car before)And for those of you who have already dealt with yours in the past, what would be the best way to clean it?Or is straight up replacing it the better alternative? Guest AlvinL
You'll find it at the top of the large tube that connects your air filter box to the turbo intake. The MAF also has an electrical connector.
550
It also has a screen on it.
Noahkk19
Could MAF cause problems without throwing a code,Just started my car, then had to go inside for a while so I stopped it, and now it won't start, I'm guessing engine is flooded because there's a hint of gas in the air...I'm guessing leaky injectors indeffinitely? Noahkk19
OK, update, did an Italian-Tune Up. KILLED my gas by like 4 gallons in about 20 minutes of driving. Did absolutely nothing it seems except work hard on my turbo.Seems the car runs real rough intermeddiately below 3,000. And I get this bad rattling/knocking sound from the engine bay and it seems to be comming from the general direction of the turbo, but I'm wondering if THAT could be part of the reason why the car is dumping fuel like crazy. I will be getting new injectors, so maybe that'll save my 13mpg woes, hopefully this weekend. And also I get a loud hissing sound sometimes when the car is in park, but it's too impossible to tell where it's comming from, deffinitely a vacuum leak. JHEIII874T5M
check the o2 sensor?also, FWIW... when the car's running like crap don't do the italian tune up man how is it impossible to find where the hissing's coming from man??? Look at your vacuum tree, pop off that cover over your throttle body, has 1 screw (torx bit needed I think) holding it down, and follow the lines from there throughout your motor. Please do not abuse your car
Noahkk19
Well, I hope no damage happened, probably just wear and tear at most...I'm starting to point towards my turbo as having a problem more and more, but I figured it'd be blowing blue smoke or something by now Hopefully all gets taken care of today, thanks for the help, I'll report back later

Noahkk19
I've already checked my under throttle body hoses...Matter of fact I got all new ones there, that's when I started to suffer my horrible gas mileage right when I got new hoses. Took a drop from about 17.9mpg to 13.7mpg
Chris_R
Got an air compressor? I use mine to feed in low pressure air thru the vacuum tree. You can hear the hissing a LOT better with the engine off, plus it's easier to find cuz the motor isn't hot and the belts aren't trying to tear your arm off!-Chris

Noahkk19
Oh yeah, while I'm thinking I was SUPPOSED to have a full tune-up on the car 2 weeks ago, and the guys at this indy shop said that it just flat out wasn't time for me to have a major tune-up, wowwww I'm praying to God I find something screwed on my car from being on longer that it's supposed to. Even if it wasn't time, you figured they'd still do it for the money?
