S70 Rear Speaker Repair

I am new to both this site and Volvos, having owned German cars (still do). I purchased a 1998 S70 three months ago.

The stereo suddenly developed a severe rattle in the right rear speaker surely caused by a cracked speaker cone. My problem is how to access the speaker.

It looks like there is no way to remove the individual speaker grills. I believe the only possible way is to release the entire rear shelf and remove. I have popped two round plastic tabs at the front corners from inside the trunk and it looks like there are two hinges or clips at the rear corners of the shelf, but I would rather get some advice before I proceed to rip the entire rear shelf apart just to get at one speaker.

Any advice would be appreciated before I go ahead and ruin Thanksgiving for my wife because I spent the day in the garage!

Welcome my man! I've tried to mess with the rear deck grills and haven't gotten anywhere... There looks like a way to remove from in the trunk, under the rear deck. I can't get to my because of the Amp rack... tell us how you make out...
