T5Manual850
Just put these on yesterday and bled the brakes with a Motive power bleeder using valvoline synthetic dot 4....major difference over stock. I was using Nordic 280mm rotors with Mintex red pads before this. Here is a comparo of the 2 rotors Here is how it sits behind 17's, fills out the wheel much better. I wonder if an NA 911 brembo 4 piston caliper will fit these..... I am much more confident in my braking ability now, I'm going to try some different pads later on to see how much better they can get :)
mdlimy
I wonder if an NA 911 brembo 4 piston caliper will fit these..... i still also would like to find a 4 piston caliper that will work with a 302 setup allowing for a cheaper setup that would possibly clear 16s, but i dont have the time or money to mess around right now. You could probally find some wilwood calipers that would fit and have justin make brackets for them if you are serious about it.
T5Manual850
I think the 4 pistons from the boxster might be able to fit, but not too sure.
9883
@T5Manual850 You are right about the NA 993 911 calipers being a good match. IIRC the stock size of those rotors is 305mm. However, they are much thicker than the volvo 302mm (which I think are 25mm). Also, the brackets that are sold by IPD are made for 993 TT calipers which are "taller" than the 993 NA calipers. The suppied 993 TT bolts are too long to work with 993 calipers and the brackets. There are two solutions to this problem. One is to simply cut them down to the right size. The other is to purchase 993 specific caliper mounting bolts, which I assume are shorter.

For the hastle just get a Porsche BBK, 1000$ ish Vs 800$ or so. Wilwood. 302's should stick with stock calipers as a cheap alternative.

They really are a huge improvement over the 280's, and anything over 302 for the street is just a waste of money IMHO, if your able to reep the rewards of a BBK on the street then your driving like a douche anyways and should be kicked in the sac. Not if you live do lot's of Mountain Driving 10MI straight down with modest acceleration easily faded my old 302's. By that logic, all Camaro V8,Acura Tl, Subaru Wrx, Evo's, Porsche, Mercedes Amg, Charger/Challenger, drivers Are Douches. BECAUSE THEY ALL HAVE 4 Piston BBK Stock. I have 300+ Trq @ the Wheels, And MY car weighs 3400Lbs with audio, full rim, etc... I have the same P0wer to weight Ratios as nearly all the cars with 4 piston BBK's IMHO :D

Having a shorter 60-0 stopping distance is advantagous to douche and non-douche alike. Its a safety issue.
Dave 54
Point i'm making is how many people on here are making the power and tracking there car in some sort of fashion. BBK is perfect for you guys, but for the newbies and for those of us like me that will never need a BBK. You got to admit that the majority of the guys that run a BBK are only doing so for looks and not the performance aspect. "By that logic, all Camaro V8,Acura Tl, Subaru Wrx, Evo's, Porsche, Mercedes Amg, Charger/Challenger, drivers Are Douches. BECAUSE THEY ALL HAVE 4 Piston BBK Stock." Step back to the time when our cars were made and then how many came with BBK , and you can't really put supercars like Porsche, Mercedes Amg, into the equation, and I don't think Volvo ever released a ralley inspired model yet, i'm sure if they did they would have a BBK on it, the STI/EVO's were released so you could go straight from the lot to a ralley event and compete. COUGH***COUGH Volvo S60R 300HP W/ 4 Piston Calipers I can Spank a Wrx Sti/Evo G37 TL 370Z Therefore I have The BBK I do agree Many Many people on VS and in general Get the BBK when a modest upgrade like the 302 SS lines Good Pads/Rotors And Ate Fluid. Would Surprise you. From stock to 302 is a considerable improvement. I brake very late into corners and accelerate quickly out of them. I average less than 10k on my Porsche Pads street and strip. But the pedal feel of a fixed Porsche caliper vs floating oem is considerably noticeable. However the BBK pads/dics are expensive and heavy. and $700 more than 302's And Yeah they do look sexy B)
lookforjoe
302's are a huge improvement over the smaller 280's, and a worthwhile upgrade to any stock setup, and still worked well when I was pushing 240WHP. But, once you get over that, BBK is the way to go!
