rbodor3
I've had a couple of other local s60 guys ask me about my exhaust and like the sound and performance of it. Considering the pricing of the systems available for the S60s it's not surprising that people go so long with the stock exhaust, or they do only the DP or only the catback. If there's enough interest I could set up a jig and fabricate a bunch of 3" turboback exhausts from plain steel and then coat them on the cheap. I'm thinking about $5-600 for the entire exhaust system. This would be only for the FWD models. Specs 3" diameter pipe turbo back plain steel pipe ceramic coated Front cat hanger & rear tip hanger locations kept (premuffler hanger deleted) Components Turbo flange 3 oxygen bung 9" long flex hi flow Magnaflow cat one 6"x20" straight-thru Magnaflow muffler near exit economy polished exhaust tip of course if you want more/different components you can specify or send me the components and I can put together, and of course labor/material required for installation is at your expense. Aluminum coated steel would be an option if people are worried that ceramic coating will come off (but honestly, I've had ceramic coatings last easily 2 years unless you auto-X your car) and probably would not be much if any price increase. I'll be willing to look further into SS option but the price would increase mostly from the increase in labor due to the greater difficulty with MIG welding SS (and of course the 2x material cost). I can post sound clips of my exhaust later --- I would of course sign up for vendor status this is just a feeler
bpray9223
I may be interested. I want to get a quote from a shop, Enhanced Street Performance, in the spring, because thats when I'm planning on getting it done. You should post up on Swedespeed too, there are more people on there with S60's. I would definately be interested once you come up with more details and pricing, materials ect. JVC
arent the P2 V70's the same as the S60's, since the S60's are also P2? Sounds like a great deal and idea to make a cheap exhaust, I'd love to do it for the S80, a cat back for it only cost like 110 in parts then welding so i gotta believe that these would be relatively cheap. shanks31
i would be interested in 3"dp, reduced to 2.5" post cat that way people who already have aftermarket exhausts can mate up easily and price pending obviously
tsuehpsyde
Sort of depends on when this is done and what the shipping would cost, but I'd be seriously interested in this. =)
Young Burnsy
What's the stock exhaust made of? It's not stainless is it?
rbodor3
i would be interested in 3"dp, reduced to 2.5" post cat that way people who already have aftermarket exhausts can mate up easily and price pending obviously Didn't consider that, but that would definitely be easy enough to do. The only thing I could imagine would be different lengths of catback exhausts - do they mate up to your stock cat? What's the stock exhaust made of? It's not stainless is it? mild steel, thickwall though
Naughty33W
how much less catless ?
rbodor3
it'd probably be the same price -material cost for a cat, which is what like $50-100 depending on type

The only thing I could imagine would be different lengths of catback exhausts - do they mate up to your stock cat? yep, the catback unbolts behind the cat with 2 studs for stock and as far as i have seen for aftermarket all mate right up to it the same way then whoever buys one can pull the stock dp and cut off the connector at the right length to meet up with their exhaust and just weld it to the 3-->2.5" reducer right off of the cat
rbodor3
I'll build the jig and get this ready for the beginning next year for spring tuning :D
rbodor3
I'm going to offer a 3" DP first for about $200-300 (depending on some pricing I'm waiting back for). Would include flange, flex, hanger, 3 oxygen bungs, and Magnaflow spun hi-flow cat. Also would include a reducing clamp for 3" to 2.5" for those that want to use a 2.5" catback. This would require you to cut (hacksaw, sawzall, cutting wheel) the stock flange off and smooth it out. Jig going up in a couple weeks.
