Easy Weight Reductions

What are some easy weight reductions I can do to my car (without replacing parts)? I looked up in my manual and the base curb weight of my car is like 3100 lbs and it has it listed as 4100 lbs. Where can I start taking off that extra weight?

So far, the best I can come up with is removing the passenger seats, spare tire, and low fuel.

Thankyou for any info!

You just want easy? Hmm... You could pull off all of your trim panels, take out the stereo, replace front seats with lightweight racing buckets (but that counts as replacing something, doesn't it? Take out the power antanna and replace it with a simple non-extending one from auto parts wherever.

i think it's easier just to loose weight yourself .... :D

Ah, yes, working on that. I currently weigh 185lbs...and if I really work hard at it, I could drop another possible 10 lbs at most. I'm pretty must in good shape as is (don't know with all the holidays coming up).

But didn't I say "Easy Weight Reduction?" PEACE!

CARBON FIBER HOOD

lol anyways, cf is your friend. get a new driver seat. With the motor, it weights about 80 pounds. My Corbeau seat is 14 pounds, and the vracket is about 20, so there is some savings there. Corbeau makes a bracket for the 850 as well.

take out the rear speakers. as a driver you'll hear no difference...the back seat passengers won't hear anything tho

Well, if I take out the back seats, I wouldn't have to worry about no back seat passengers.

Yes, I think CF would be helpful, though I'd like to change the stock hood with the CF one more easily and back again.

Thanks for the info!

The rear trunk board is heavy, this coupled with spair and jack and tools should loose alot. Only thing about removing the passenger front seat is you have to deal with the side impact bag and the bolts are not reuseable according to the manual.

Hears what I did:

CF hood

Light wheels with Volvo center caps (they were lighter than what came on the wheel) Also, check out tire weight. (Tire rack will give you the weight on any tire they carry)

UR aluminum pulley

Lost spair (kept trunk board, but easy to take out at the track)

Drilled rotors all the way around

Optima battery (lost 5 lbs)

Also, my amp and sub combo only weigh 13 lbs.

I run 6 gal of gas, max.

Good deal, I'll keep all that stuff in mind.

Thanks!
