ThaBigO
I am thinking about buying a 1996 Volvo 850 GL - the guy selling it is the only owner. He says this "Smokes a bit from exhaust. I add at least a quart of oil every thousand miles, but there are no drips.Knowledgeable people have told me it is probably a valve guide or that the oil trap needs servicing or the engine may need rings." Does this information sounds accurate. I talked to a mechanic and he said it could also be a bad turbo. What questions should I ask the seller and what should I look for when i go and look at the car. Regards, BigO
