Tom.
ok well i was playing with dash and noticed that where ive seen the tracs switch on most x70s mine had a blank. but that didnt really raise a question i figured becuase of the AWD it didnt have it... but i took the black out and plug and wires are they... then i got to thinking... i kno ive seen AWDs witht eh tracs switch. so sure because i had a tracs switch laying around that i pulled from an XC before i even had the R... so i plugged the switch in... and it works.... it turns tracs off question is if its wired up and all why didnt it have the switch and turning tracs off i dont feel any diffrence.... my guess is its irrevlevant to bother with because of the traction from the AWD and they didnt bother with the switch because it wont make a diffrence and they wanted to save money... info please.... I don't have an answer as to why some had them and some didn't, but I can confirm that my '98 R had it and that a friend of mine's '00 R did not have it. yangotang
I'm guessing it may have something to do with the TRACS that eventually changed to STC?

DonutsDemise
you don't have TRACS, you just plugged in a switch that turns the TRACS light on and off now. it has to do with the abs module, not just the switch and the wiring. Tom.
alright. but still... why on earht would thay have the wires there? use the same harness instead of making anew one perhaps... who knows... we never will as its volvo logic.

MrWinkey
alright. but still... why on earht would thay have the wires there? use the same harness instead of making anew one perhaps... who knows... we never will as its volvo logic. manufacturer's use pretty much the same main harness on the model they make for several years and leave connectors dead when not used.
