hey guys! I'm currently looking for the part number of the following items: 850R clutch kit and single-mass flywheel. My current 1998 S70 T5m is simple really tired so I am going to do this upgrade next spring. Do you think i'm going the good way or there is another way cheaper/greater to go? I was thinking at firt to go with a Spec stage 2+ kit but it is way to expensive and I know the R clutche can old some high Torque.

Your part number is correct but you can also use the NA flywheel if you want because that will be easier to find from a junkyard. Same part number except at the end it's a "2" instead of a "4" so 9454772. If you are buying new then get the proper turbo one.

Will,

Is there a physical difference in the flywheels?

Yes, there is a slight difference in diameter. B Mac used the NA single mass for his setup and I'm 99% sure I got a naturally aspirated single mass from VandS even though I asked for a turbo one (probably didn't have any in stock) and it's really been no trouble. I would say quite a few on here ended up using the NA one either by accident or on purpose and it's not a non-issue.

Where is the diameter difference?

I know for a fact that there is a difference is the clutch plate diameter, but the pins on the flywheel itself have the same configuration regardless of whether or not the wheel was meant for a NA or Turbo car...

True Yang - I'm not sure. I don't have one in front of me here. Perhaps Justin or someone else with lots of parts lying around at a shop can do a comparison and measure.

Sorry I can't be more helpful on this.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they are most likely the same, in the same way how a '04 C70 T5M has the exact same Master Cylinder as the '98 T5M but they have different part numbers that vary $30 in price.
