2000 C70 Antenna Mast Broken

is a portion of the mast still in the antenna motor? if it is and it's badly seized onto the base of the antenna, there's no incentive for a dealer to try to replace just the mast. it'd be easier to remove and replace the entire assembly.

aftermarket replacement masts are available for ~$20. i just looked at pictures of some used genuine volvo c70 antennae on ebay and they appear to be the same as 850/s70 antenna which are plentiful in the used market. you should consider posting a "wanted" ad here on volvospeed.

The dealer told me it would be 235$ to replace. They said that they couldn't replace just the mast; the motor had to be replaced too even though there's nothing wrong with it. That's not right is it?

Considering the mast is an available inexpensive replacement part I would just order one and do the install yourself. Remember to order the correct one for your C, 5 section for convertible, 3 section for coupes. FCPGroton can get either for you, call since it is not listed on their site.

I think the whole mast came out. The metal part was bent and then I backed out of a driveway and hit a tree branch. When I got home it was flopped over. I turned the radio back on and it sent the plastic part out. It was still attached so I was trying to figure out what to do with it. I just barely pulled on it and the whole thing came out. There is still part of the metal attached but I'm not sure if it's just the bit around the hole or if it's inside the trunk too. Are there instructions on how to replace it? I'm not sure which side the teeth face either because I didn't pay attention when it came out. Thanks!
