merlin390
Yup the MAF adapter is a no go in our cars. I work at AAP and have been looking at these parts myself. This company in question does make a VERY nice 3" elbow out of weldable aluminum, the silicone couplings are pretty robust too.

Yea I had to use a heat gun for the couplings to make them more pliable

Mattphi
I know this is kicking up an old thread, but I'm thinking about making one of these still. Question about the connection at the bottom...what's holding it to the stock plastic piece?
adamjjohn203
Made one a long time ago for my turbo....same parts from autozone......sold it a couple of years ago.

If your still planning on making one, are you going to try and make up some sort of heat shield?
Mattphi
Good question. Forgot about this thread. If your still planning on making one, are you going to try and make up some sort of heat shield? No, not going to make a heat shield right now. No real need to, it wont give too much more performance. I'd like to make one like this but it looks like he just set the Autozone piping on-top of the OEM plastic piece. Doesn't look too secure. Adamjjohn, that looks great. Anymore info on it? I have my stock airbox still.

I have my stock airbox still. I just used the same parts t-town did...I painted mine, I gutted the inlet into the airbox so I could fit the coupler through it. Mattphi
Would that work for a NA box though? Is it angled the same? Because that looks amazing. Seriously, super nice.

Mattphi
I have a 45 degree 3" Forge coupler...maybe I'll go hacking some stuff up tonight :)
t-townS70
This is my more recent picture of what I did to my intake. That old pic was before I put the second coupling on there because the other one wasnt staying on very well Shiiinnnyyyy The MAF is held together by a coupling and the heatshield is bolted down and secure
Mattphi
I feel like that would work a lot better with a coupler and a 90 degree bend? I stopped by Autozone today to look, and they have both
