c7024
Wassup Ya'll. I'm bored of my small 13t in my c70 and am looking to upgrade. I know a 16t is a simple and not too costly way to go, plus the speeedtuning chip will help it all work in harmony. But here lies my prob, my boy is willing to let his 55k turbo go off of his 2005 Evo for dirt cheap. He claims it's a 20g which is good, but can i swap that turbo onto my 2.4L with no problem? If there's anything that needs to be done what would it be? Also would speedtuning make a chip that will make it all work? This will be done during the spring before the show in Carlisle so I have some time, but to get all of the parts ahead of time and install them all at once is the key since $ is an issue as usual. Thanks in advance for the help

A 20G on your stock 2.4L is pointless. To make it work you would just need a couple things, custom exhaust manifold, custom oil/coolant lines, custom intake hoses, intercooler hose, new downpipe, and a custom tune. Pretty much the least bolt on turbocharger ever in existence. . . .
Naughty33W
not as easy as u think
AverageVolvo
20G is bit too much for an Lpt. Better off with a 16t and 17 psi tune as you have late model Lpt.

HayaCruza
Even though you got scared off so quickly, lookforjoe did a pretty good job of describing his ordeal with the 20G. It is not a drop-in and he is having trouble getting a good tune.

Naughty33W
OEM Mitsubishi Evolution 8 MR turbocharger = 16g "The turbocharger on all EVO-VIIIs is a twin-scroll Mitsubishi TD05HR-16G6-10.5cm"
greekone
The OP said he was getting a 20G off his friend's 05 Evo. According to the Evo forum the Evo 8 came with the 16G and the Evo 9 cam with the 20G, so either his friends retarded or swapped the turbo. Dave 54
Unfortunately TurboR850 they did =/ Those are rebuilt EVO IX turbos, they are 16G's with a 20G wheel that are redone by that member just like the one's Spanky does for us here on VS. Quoted from the selller on that site, "They are stock Evo 9 turbos with the 20g wheel put in them, if you want a stock 9 turbo i can get you that too. It would be $750 shipped. Remember People No CORE REQUIRED on these prices, you get to keep your stock turbo." Peeps need to read .
