$3500 850R

Just washed them, and this is what my $3500 R looks like. Bought the Yellow for $2800 from second owner, replaced turbo oil return seals and fuel tank vent hose, pristine with 151K dealer serviced miles. The black one, is pretty rough. Bought it for $700 and it has some issues I'm still working on. In the mean time, it runs fine with a quirky transmission issue... this one has the most miles I've ever seen on an 850; 360K, with an intermittent speedo.

I really have to vouch for the Turtle ICE clay bar system. I used it along with the Ice wax on both Rs and it did wonders!

My parts car, I've owned about five years and it's served well. Coming home from work one day and my long days finally caught up to me. I rear-ended another car at about 20mph. First and only accident. I walked away, well drove the car home even. It's nice having a parts car that I can vouch for all the parts working. I've already taken quite a few parts from it for the black car...

The parts car was not worth fixing... I bought the black car for less than $700. Only if I was given parts, could I have repaired the red turbo for less.

and yes, I was being foolish saying I spent $3500 to buy both the yellow and black T5-Rs.

I tinted the yellow and red cars, 20% I believe, and the black car is not as dark, but the PO did that. I prefer the smoked tint over the purple-ish stuff.

I usually have at least two or three of the same cars around there. Under the tarp is a 240SX with an SR20 swap and there's anothe 240 hatch behind the red gate.

These pictures are at my Mother's house, so I don't know many of the neighbors any more. I've left her with the yellow R for her DD, as it's much nicer and more reliable than the black one I'm driving. I've still got to go get my red turbo and bring it to my house, I think I'm going to put it's trans in my black R.

Today I just happened to stop by her house after getting back in town, she was watching my Boxer who's getting ready to have puppies any day now, and I saw how filthy my yellow car was so I washed both and snapped a few pics of the gang in one place.

Seriously, though, looks like a nice specimen (the Yellow), and impressive miles on the Black. Most miles I put on a Volvo was 450K on my '85 745TI. Rust killed that one. :(

That has to be darker than 20%... 15 tops maybe 10%? :unsure:

You need to get some Forever Black and redo your bumpers :)

I bet if you found used parts, that red turbo would have still cost you around $2000 to fix. Looks like my first 850 after I rear ended a Saturn... Headlight, grill, hood, header panel, condenser, radiator, fan. I might be missing a couple parts. I had it priced out back then to fix it. Ended up selling the thing due to a bad RMS anyways.
