03 Xc70 Cel P2407

My 2003 XC70 w/ 93K just popped the CEL and in checking the code I came up with

P2407 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit Intermittent/Erratic

Has anyone else experienced this? Are we just talking about clearing the code and try a new gas cap or do I need to get this in?

Of course my inspection is due this month too, not sure if this is a killer or not.

EVAP codes can pop up for the simplest of things. I had one pop up for my gas cap being loose once. I have also had it come up when I had a vacuum leak. I would first check your gas cap and then check all the vacuum lines under the hood to make sure they are all still good.

Yes it is very common, the LDP is located on top of the rear subframe right next to the rear muffler. Alot of times you have to lower the exhaust and remove the heat shield above the muffler to gain access to the pump. Hope this helps.

My CEL has been going on and off for me to procrastinate awhile since I started this post - anyway - I had enough stuff driving me nuts that took it to my local indy shop and it just needs a software update along with unrelated items such as a new cabin blower motor, a motor mount and manifold gasket -- The odometer is at 94K right now.
