2000 C70, Where Is All The Weight?

Well you guys are right for the most part Volvo's are heavy and the C70 especially seems to be heavy mostly because of the Boron steel Volvo used in the windshield frame and I believe all the way into the rocker panels. This was for rollover rigidity. There are cross support bars that run underneath the car I guess you could remove but not sure if you would loose more than 30 pounds.

well, i'm not willing to cut the car in half to save weight, i should sell it before thinking that ;) i guess then you just have to make it fast without the help of weight reduction, but then you start wearing out brakes and tires fast as hell....i see a for sale sign in the future.

ha! it's gonna be like trying to make a forklift fast. being this heavy, it will never be a sports car

I guess the volvo badge didn't tip you off that it wasn't a sports car to begin with?:lol: However, making 300-400hp will still be enough to be fun, but I hope you didn't buy a C70 with the intent of crushing z06's or low level exotics.

nah, i got a 97 dodge neon for that ;) 2.4L turbo, fully dressed weighing 2600lbs. last i checked i was laying down 336WHP before my megasquirt install. with that i be hurting regular corvetts and a few motorcycles.

i bought the C70 as a gift to myself for graduating massage therapy school and i swore i would do nothing to it but just drive it, but i can't leave anything alone. i just want have a nice cars that make me smile when i drive them.
