Using High Level Inputs

A friend of mine just bought a sub/box/amp, and is looking to install them in his sedan. I have little/no experience using high level inputs, but am wondering what the best solution is to providing signal to the amp. His rear deck consists of 2 6x9's powered by factory amps. I just wish I could convince him to buy an aftermarket deck (and a volvo).

well, just get a high/lo converter, wire it up to his back deck speaker wires, you will see that the input side of hte converter is two pairs of wires, and there is a set of rcas coming out the other side. there may be a knob that attenuates the signal as needed...anyway, basically, just tap the speaker wires, run a rca cable into the amp, and then find a good wire to use as a remote turn on lead, and oyu are set to go.

and should I be doing this to incorporate both left+right rear speakers or just pick a side?

Some amps have high level inputs. There is a better way than using the high-low adapter, you can buy an active crossover (Most phoenix gold crossover has high-level input). You'll get better processing, better frequency separation, and lastly better sound. It's like killing 3 birds at once :)
