Hello everyone, this is my first post and Im glad to be here. I just had a question about the sizes of the speakers in my car. I noticed it has 2 in the dash, 2 in the front doors, 2 in rear doors, and 2 on the back deck. I was looking at crutchfield and they only listed for the front and rear doors. Thanks for the help!

Hey, I have a 95 850 turbo and I was able to put :

Focal 5 and a quarta seperates in the front (stock locations)

5 1/4" in the doors with 1" tweets in the dash locations, and x-overs behind the dash. no problems encountrered

Focal 5 1/4" 2 ways in back doors. The speaks have big mags and are pretty tall with the tweeter on em, just consider the mounting depth for those locations so you can use the stock grills, i was still able to.

On the back, i agree with V Tun, the only thing you can find aftermarket wise is some 4 or 5 x 7 weirdos, might as well get some 6x9s and have selection, if your not afraid of getting them installed

I was able to get 6x9ers in the back but had to take out the stock speaker pod, and get holes cut into the back dash. I used focal here too, and their mounting is a little tricky on the 6X9s, but im realy satisfied how they look, through the back tints and with their flush install. I prefer the install to the stock pods for sure.

I cant remember but I think my buddy at Car Toys said a other manufacturers bynines might actually fit. (something to look into)

If u use bynines and mount them like i did you will see the mags in the trunk coming through the back dash, this is no biggie and can allow you easy access to the wires, but if you put a good sized sub box in your trunk you will need to make a little clearence. good luck!

yeah man, those utopias are rediculous, dag 4 inch mags, I'd wanna install 'em backwards just so I could see 'em bling. I used the 130V2's from Focal's polyglass line, 26mm smaller magnet. They're pretty happy in their homes. Now that I think about it, I believe when I was pickin speakers I had to downgrade to these because of magnets and depth.

on side note COPS is on right now and these two guys in a mint 83 or so, tinted out yellow Volvo wagon with a roof rack and perfect dookie brown interior, got pulled over for blowin a stopsign. The first thing the cop says when he gets to the window is that he's gettin munchies just standin' there. The two kids fork over a tiny roach and lie, swearing to the cop theres no more cuz they just smoked all they had. They get out, get searched and then sit down while the cop searched the car. The cop finds a bag of pole, blunts, like 6 packs of zigzags, and a whole bunch of accessories. When hes done, 5 cops had arrived at the scene and are just hanging out, the cop and the driver are stuff'n, debating pot politics and what you can and cant do stoned. In the end the kid gets let go and drives away in the beast laughing. Cool jerk cop, I bet he owned a brick before.

I know those kids loved that car, it was real straight. the rack shined so bright in the mid day sun. im just happy that i can now accept my old high school hypothesis; the only way to beat the system is with a volvo.

I actually bought some used utopias just kinda on a whim (the price was pretty good for them). Then when I got them I knew they werent gonna fit. Then I was gonna put them in kickpanels. And then I thought, hell, if Im gonna do kicks then i want bigger, so I sold the focals.

So now im doing custom lower door panels to hold 6-1/2's angled up at opposite listeners head. It might even sound okay ;) WE'll see. Tweets are a secret  !

Problem is, you really dont know how its gonna sound until you do it, and onece it's done, you may find out it sounds like crap.

Catch-22.

Yeah, it was pinned before, and this is at least the second time its been asked since the forums broke and we lost the sticky.

About the rear door speakers though, how come its not an actual grill over them, its solid plastic?

Sedans have rear doors and rear decks.  I'm not sure how it goes for wagons if its any different... do you have 8 speakers?

Well, I don't hear any sound from the rear doors, and don't see an actual grill (there is that solid plastic covering that has a pattern that almost looks like a grill though) so I didnt think there was a speaker back there. Then again, when I first got the car, the magnets had fallen off the speakers in the rear deck, so theres no telling what could be in the door...
