VolvoForLife850
Hey I have recently installed a new alpine stereo deck with some subs and an amp. For now its rigged so I could do some adjustments later if needed, but I was wondering how you hide the audio cables that go from the back of your stereo deck to your amp. Both my subs and amp are in the trunk of my 94 850. I have the cables going to the front of the stereo deck, going down to the middle arm rest, and then the rest is hidden under the seats all the way to the trunk. I was just wondering how you can get access from behind the stereo deck to completely hide all wires that go to the amp in the trunk. Thanks in advance! mdlimy
not exactly sure what your asking. your running all the wires from behind the deck in the dash, down through the center console, under the carpet into the trunk correct? thats how it should be done... beewerks
Here's what I did in my '94 850 wagon: I ran all of the wires under the carpet of the car, to do so I removed the front seat, and the door trim pieces that hold the carpet down. Coming from the back of the stereo deck, I was able to stick the wires through a small slot between the back of the plastic console and the floor of the car. This is the area that starts to bend upwards towards the dash. I pulled the carpet back a bit and then went along the entire length of the car carefully routing the wire. There are a couple of channels already there for other wires and such which is where I stuck mine. I was going to run them down the center of the car, but wasn't sure what to do about the "hump" area in the back floor where the carpet was kind of tight for me. I ended up placing the wires on the passenger side. In my wagon I was easily able to put the wire under the carpet underneath my rear seats, but you'll probably need to remove your rear-seat cushion to do it. The main thing is is that there are a couple of gaps in between the rear of the upper part of the center console and the metal body paneling. I found them by pulling the carpet back and with one hand in the stereo opening and the other reaching around under the glove box, I found a hole. Good luck! I hope this helps a little. Sorry I don't have any pics of when I was doing it.

Matt01
holy crap, i did none of that. i ran my power wire through the gromet in the firewall, i took off the plastic mouldings that run along side the metal mouldings that read "850" where the doors are, in the middle i pulled my carpet down stuck the wire through, removed the same side moulding in the back, ran it under that and under the back seat.. theres no need to remove anything but the plastic cover to under the dash, the mouldings, and you have to persuade the carpet a little bit i did the same thing on the other side for the rca wire.. andyb5
During my install, I ran my power cable and amp turn on lead along the drivers side door sills (they just pop right up) RCA signal cables from the HU behind the glove box (remove the glove box, and its very easy to do) and along the passenger side door sills(to isolate from most electrical interference, aka noise, given off by the power cable for better SQ) To go past the rear seats, I removed the lower outside bolster of each rear seat. To do so, jam your hands behind the bolster, and give a good sharp tug outwards, and it should just release. I then ran the wires under the respective wheel well covers, and out to my amp/sub. Here's a rough view of where my wires are run...sorry about the sh!tty lines, I'm on my laptop w/out a mouse

Account_Deleted_T5M
You mean the REM wire? In my 850 i routed all wiring under the trim on the passenger side, apart from the battery which i ran on the drivers side. In my s70 all the wiring is routed neatly under the carpet and foam
michael-s70
in both my s70's i ran it all on drivers side and amp wire through firewall gromet. i put all the wires on the floor pan instead of near the plastic moldings.
