Basically it should go like this: Vac line from compressor housing >> Bottom fitting on MBC >> Top fitting on MBC >> vac line to wastegate

thats what i wasnt so sure about i have the stock tvc hooked up with the electrical line only, no vac lines, is that correct?

TCV ha but i double checked the vac lines going to the mbc and im nearly positive there correct, but im just unsure of if anything/what should be connected to the tcv, or if it may be my actuator rod being loose or something and how to adjust that properly

This all sounds like false economy to me. The difference is $30 to $40 to get a proven Halman (that everyone in the Turbo community knows is the best).

Do you guys with this mentality buck up and spend the extra change for "premium" fuel in your turbo cars, or are you saving money by only getting 87 octane?!?

Same difference if you ask me.

I look at it more like buying a Big Mac instead of this http://most-expensive.net/hamburger When it comes down to it they're both just some slabs of ground up cow flesh between a couple buns. Sure, the $5000 one might have better quality components and I'm sure its plenty tasty. But is it $4995 better than the Big Mac? Maybe, if it bothers you that much to know that someone out there is buying a better hamburger than you have. But if you ask me, the Big Mac does the job of the $5000 burger 98% as well for 0.1% the cost.

And for the record, I use nothing but premium name brand gas in my Volvo.

i ran an ebay cheapo mbc for most the summer....it was very scary... every day i got in my car i could only guess how much boost it would make... spikes to 18+psi would happen too often

if you want to play that bargin game...go for it. but there is a time and place to do it.

The thing with putting better gas in is something i got very into with my car, many people would tell me it was a waste to always put at least mid grade in, usually premium, but in reality my mileage improves enough with the better gas, say only around 1-2 mpg but over the 18 gallons of every fill up thats say 27 miles extra which is equivalent to a little over a gallon, so if a gallon of gas is eh 3 bucks, and it cost 10cents extra a gallon to put in premium over mid grade, thats 1.80 extra for better gas, so really im saving money by using the more expensive gas, crazy, now a 5k burger, forget that im sticking with bk.

oh and about my mbc issues, it seems that its spooling quicker, but not getting any higher boost, i have the lines hooked up correct, the tcv and the air hose nipple capped off, so does anyone know what i should do to check my actuator rod because im sensing thats the issue. Ive only turned the adjuster on the mbc around probally a full turn or so, but since i dident see any results i was hesitant to keep turning it up. Since its the rx, could it be that i just need to turn it more to see any results? Such a simple product and install never got so hard haha

EBC is stuff?

If you think that the stock BCS or IPD HC TCV is better than using an EBC to control boost and onset then you sir, are insane.

that wasn't the point of his post. mike was trying to say that a quality tune > bcs/tcv/ebc/mbc anyday. and he is 100% right. ;)
